Addicting Adoption TV-Series
Throughout the summer, I have been viewing (AKA hardcore binge-watching AKA I watched this in the shower on several occasions- I was addicted) a popular family tv-series called, The Fosters. The Fosters is a comedy/drama about a mixed family of biological, fostered and adopted kids and their gay mothers. Each character has their own story line that portrays their individual struggle and story that intertwines with the rest of the family. It is about a same-blood and different-blood family that has their fair share of family drama, but in the end, will always love each other no matter where they came from or what their past was like.
I felt like I could really connect to some of the same feelings that each foster/adopted kid felt. I hadn’t really found a tv-show that I could emotionally connect to in the same way that I could with some of my adoption movies (see my home page to see my recommended three adoption movies!) I wanted to find something that would force all these emotions of sadness, curiosity, confusion, anger and hurt to surface. Sounds weird... But, it helps me make blog posts and see a different side of adoption. So FINALLY finding something that had teenagers, a diverse family, comedy, teen struggles, good-looking characters AND shows the emotional struggles that anyone in such an adopted/foster family can experience… Was fricken superb.
I highly recommend you at least watch the first episode and if it’s not for you, no biggie! But if you really enjoy it and you end up binge-watching it even in the shower… You can blame that on me :P
